I am Debbie Myers Alexander, a life-long avid gardener. My passion is to broaden my understanding of, create and preserve, and educate others about, native plants and gardens and their natural ecosystems. I am grateful to the many people who have graciously provided their encouragement and support. In particular, Alrie Middlebrook, the founder of the California Native Garden Foundation, a role model and tireless advocate for these issues, generously shared her time, ideas, and infectious enthusiasm with me during my recent visit to the Middlebrook Center in San Jose, California. I encourage you to support her work! My dear husband, Craig Alexander, has been a source of inspiration and encouragement, especially on our trips to South Africa and Abu Dhabi, and always generous with his time and support. His technical expertise and talents have been invaluable, and I feel very lucky and grateful to have him as my partner.
